The day after arriving in Tashkent my parents and I took a flight to Khiva, clear across the other side of Uzbekistan. We traveled with a car and driver for the rest of the trip, working our way back to Tashkent, where we flew back to Almaty. Here, we are inside the walls of the old city of Khiva with the colorful Kalta Minor minaret (an unfinished minaret) in the background.
