Here my friend Jessica, who is visiting from the US, is trying a true Kazakh tradition, kymuz, or fermented mare's milk. Over the course of her four-day visit, I introduced Jessica to almost every Kazakh tradition--beshbarmak with horse meat, kurt (salted dried cheese), chip chak (a Kazakh dessert similar to Rice Krispie treats) and good Russian favorities, such as pelmeni and kefir.
